Sisters and brothers,
Happy Monday to all! Yesterday we worshipped the only true and living God who gave His Son Jesus to die in our place on the cross. From 1 Corinthians 1, we looked at the difference between the wisdom of God and the wisdom of the world. We learned that the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength. Man’s wisdom never answers the deepest questions of life. Man’s wisdom can never discover where forgiveness, purpose, meaning, and eternal life can be found. The wisdom of the world, those who are perishing, look at the crucifixion of Jesus on the cross and sees weakness and folly. However, those who believe and are saved know the Jesus’ death on the cross is the very wisdom and power of God. Through the cross our sins can be forgiven. Through the weakness of the cross, we can find forgiveness, life, and purpose. Hope for forgiveness and life for any person comes through the weakness and the foolishness of the cross of Christ.
Remember to keep praying continually for each other. None of us know fully the burdens our brothers and sisters in Christ might be carrying.
Love being your pastor!
